Whitefish Mountain And Spring Break Make Good Choice Mike Terrell calendar_month Tue Feb 25 2025 menu_book 2 minutes reading time (317 words)

Montana has received some of the best snow coverage in recent years. Showdown Mountain received over five feet of snow over a five-day period in early January and Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area has received over 18 feet on its summit so far this winter.

With the great early season conditions Whitefish Mountain Resort had record-breaking numbers of skiers and snowboarders visit over the holiday season, and are on pace to set a seasonal record for visits for the 2024/25 winter season.

Spring break may be a great time to visit this year and cash in on some of the great snow conditions at Whitefish, however with the possibility of more record-breaking visitations it would be a good idea to plan ahead and make reservations early.

Big Mountain lives up to its name with over a 2,300-foot vertical drop and 3,000-acres for skiing and riding. Slopes fall off the mountain in all directions. The ample terrain offers easy green boulevards from top to bottom. There are plenty of blue cruisers and molar-grinding glades, chutes, and even a few 50-foot cliffs. It’s all highlighted by supersized scenery. The snow-capped peaks of Glacier National Park fill the far horizon and sparkling snow ghosts—powder shellacked trees—dot the top of the mountain.

You can get 20-perrcent off lodging and lift tickets when you purchase a minimum of two lift tickets, any age category. Additional lift tickets for all ages are available at checkout. The offer is valid for stays March 17-April 6, 2025.

The friendly, funky town of Whitefish also offers lots off lodging choices, classic neighborhood bars with live music and a bevy of good restaurants to choose from. With great public transportation it's easy to get up to the mountain for a day on the slopes. And, if you have the time it's an easy drive to visit Glacier National Park and see some of their magnificent scenery.
