Beyond The Boundaries Women's Snowboard Camp Sells Out at Mountain Creek... Again
The last weekend in February at Mountain Creek has been a lively one since 2018 when Beyond the Boundaries women's snowboard camp first started hosting a two day camp there which consistently sells out its 60 spots. Beyond the Boundaries is a freestyle focused women's snowboard camp that travels through out the U.S and internationally creating an inviting space for women to progress and meet other like minded women. The Mountain Creek camp is extra special to one of BTB's founders, Christine Savage, who grew up down the road and learned to snowboard there. Christine shared that "Working with Mountain Creek is such a pleasure. Everyone (and I mean everyone) goes out of their way to make this event as amazing as possible every year. From the marketing team to the terrain park crew to the food and beverage staff and beyond, the people at Mountain Creek put so much heart and soul into this event and care so much about its success.I have had the joy of coaching the Mountain Creek camp the last three years and it just might be my favorite stop of the season." The high energy that the East Coast ladies bring to camp fill the air with constant encouragement, cheering for their fellow campers and pushing each other to try new skills fuels my own love for the sport.
With over 15 features built with progression in mind, there was something for everyone. There were a wide range of abilities from women who had been riding 10+ years and attended camp in previous seasons, to women who had just begun snowboarding this season and jumped right into the terrain park. Krissy, who won the "blue ribbon" achievement sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon beer had said "Maybe next year I will hit rails" and proceeded to successfully ride rail features later that day. Watching the campers confidence grow throughout the weekend and meet new riding partners was heart warming.
