Don't storage wax those skis yet! Boyne Mountain has not one, but two events on the calendar for May on snow: the Hemlock Open and the Late Season Boho Bash.

Head to Michigan May 2nd for the Hemlock Open where you'll compete in teams of two in a Giant Slalom in the morning followed by a 9-hole golf scramble in the afternoon. May 16th Boyne is hosting the Late Season Boho Bash, which plays on their friendly competition to see who can stay open the longest with free tickets for their season pass holders and pass holders from Mount Bohemia.

This year Boyne Mountain might just win with their new technology in snowmaking and grooming. Boyne Mountain and the larger Boyne Resorts, have integrated some incredible technology to their snowmaking and grooming processes that makes it possible to extend the season even in years with less snowfall. Two programs have made it easier for the grooming and snowmaking teams to share data and work together to create and manage the incredible snow we love to carve up. The combination of iSNO and SNOWSAT means "systems work together, shared data between the snowmaking and grooming teams enables a more precise, efficient, and sustainable operation". The snowmaking teams use iSNO to manage and monitor aspects like water use, energy use, and snow gun performance across the resorts in real time. While the groomers use SNOWSAT when operating the snow cats to see the snow depth ahead of them with forward facing LiDAR, this means that they can identify thin areas and preemptively push more snow. With teams sharing this data between them, they are able to make snow only when and where it is needed while spreading it evenly across terrain. This new technology in combination helps to extend the season, in Boyne Mountain's case into May!
