Brundage Mountain Resort Posts Top Numbers for Idaho, a Standout in the West James Crosby calendar_month Wed Feb 11 2026 menu_book 2 minutes reading time (423 words)

It's common fodder in conversation this season to share horror stories of dry slopes and boney glades, but all of that is other peoples' problems for the folks at Brundage Mountain Resort. The team worked hard to get 100% of trails open by January 7. Currently operating on a 43-75" base with 6 of 6 lifts spinning, it's as close to business as usual as anybody can be on this side of the Rockies.

We caught up with Brundage General Manager Ken Rider to ask about the 'Best Snow in Idaho.' Rider commented "the vibe this week has been absolutely fantastic since this most recent storm, there is certainly some pent up demand for POWDER." He continues "we had a number of ski clubs, including the Bogus Basin Ski Club and a Portland Ski Club that nailed their timing with the storm, and are enjoying the best conditions they've seen all year."

As skiers and riders shop around for where to send it for Presidents Day weekend, Idaho is caching a lot of attention. Early storms established a solid base, the cooler temps of the north protected it, and frequent medium dustings have kept the layers fresh and steady. In the week leading up to the February holiday weekend, the resort measured 19" of fresh snow on the snow stake at the base (6,050' el.) and 29" at the Lakeview snow stake (7,400' el.) which is a lot of icing on the cake. All in all its the rare recipe a resort needs to make something decent of this season.

As the last of the major holiday weekends approaches, the timing couldn't be more perfect. Brundage has a lineup of events including a race, rail jam, a painting party, and live music. Anyone less inclined towards structure and gathering can enjoy the bountiful woods of Brundage for desperately sought after glade therapy. After this weekend, the party continues on Feb 17th with the Resort celebrating the 65th day of the 65th year with $65 lift ticket special pricing. With the Any Pass offer, season pass holders from any mountain can present their pass at the ticket window for a $65 lift ticket all season long (except Saturdays and Sunday 2/15).

A strange season for sure, and one that makes us appreciate the Best Snow in Idaho all that much more.
