Few ski and snowboard locales denote spring skiing more than the dozen resorts around Lake Tahoe and, as the end of the season looms, there's no better place to celebrate.

The warm-weather headquarters for California skiers and riders, Lake Tahoe hosts a plethora of springtime events that put a stamp on the 2025-2026 season. Festivals, speed racing, music, food and beer all show up for the final weeks of the season.

Through March 8: Since 1982, the mountain locales of Lake Tahoe region have celebrated North Lake Tahoe Snowfest. The final week of the 'fest features town ski race at Palisades Tahoe (March 4); Milk Jug Curling (March 4), ice carving (March 6) and Open Snow Golf (March 7) at Tahoe City; and, the "Ididarun" sled dog race for local pups (March 8) at Tahoe Donner.

March 19-29: The Truckee River Winery has 10 days of wine-and-food pairings at the local winery. Savor the full flavor of the northern Tahoe town with food from local restaurants. This one of many spring events in Truckee

March 27-29: World-class mogul skiers descend upon Palisades Tahoe for three days of bumps and jumps at the Toyota U.S. Mogul Freestyle Championships. Men and women competitors wrap of the season with single and dual events on famed Red Dog slope above the base village.

March 29-31: The annual Winter WonderGrass Festival cranks up the bluegrass at Palisades Tahoe. Each day from noon to 2 p.m. in the main plaza, top-notch bluegrass bands strum and pluck favorites ... for free.

April 4: A bizarre form of racing closes out the season with the Dummy Downhill at Diamond Peak Resort. Teams built a "dummy" racer mounted on skis or snowboard, then launch it from up the hill to makes its own way over a jump. Awards given for longest jump, worst jump and creativity.

April 10-12: After a 10-year hiatus, the Rahlves Bonzai Tour reappears at Palisades Tahoe for its final weekend of the season. Skiers and riders compete in ski and snowboard cross on KT-22 free-ride course. Qualifying precedes Sunday's finals for event named after former U.S. ski team speed skier Daron Rahlves.

Ongoing: The South Lake Tahoe Beer Trail gives suds-lovers a full palate of locally brewed craft beers at more than a dozen outlets in and around the town. Specials abound for St. Patrick's Day.
