Loon Mountain's Inaugural NEMBA Day Delivers Community Spirit

The partnership between Loon Mountain Resort and the New England Mountain Bike Association brought together dedicated mountain bike riders from across New England.
The vibe was as easy going as the dog days of summer for Loon’s inaugural NEMBA Day on the last Saturday of July. Under perfect July skies, the White Mountain resort hosted a celebration of the beloved trail maintenance powerhouse on the bike park trails that have made Loon Mountain Resort a summer destination. Genuine camaraderie permeated every banked corner of the mountain, and more than the hubs were buzzing at Loon's NEMBA day, thanks to pours on the patio from Stoneface Brewing Co.
With a quick stop by the NEMBA table, casual visitors learned that NEMBA has been operating in New England since the late 80's. With 36 chapters across the region, 10,000+ members have been fighting for and maintaining trails and skill parks from Brattleboro to Boston, from the Quiet Corner to the Carrabassett. With resources like e-Bike trail maps and Trail School, NEMBA is ideal for everyone from the weekend warriors to the eat-breathe-livers. NEMBA has a lot to offer members, from benefits including discounts on coffee, bikes, and park passes, to events around the region. But at an event with some of the best trails in New England, nobody was going to linger at the table for too long. As a community of trail workers, advocates, and enthusiasts, everyone came to ride!
With the backdrop of the largest bike park in the White Mountains, Loon Mountain was a showcase of trail excellence. Events through the day highlighted the inclusive spirit that NEMBA champions. The Ladies' Ride was a successful outing of low pressure and high stoke. With 14 miles of trails descending 1,000 ft, there was something for every skill level, built to encourage exactly this kind of supportive community progression. The vibe is always electric at Loon, and the rest of summer promises to keep the party rolling. The adventure center will be open through the end of August, and bike park passes are currently on sale through at least October.
