Plenty Of Events On The Upcoming Calendar At Monarch, Wolf Creek
With the school and college vacations upon us, Monarch and Wolf Creek in southwestern Colorado ski and snowboard resorts fire up special races, instruction, music and demos to keep things lively as they head into the final portion of the 2025-2026 season.
At Monarch, this season marked the debut of the 400-acres No Name Basin expansion. With 10 trails and two glades with 914 feet of vertical drop, Monarch's first new terrain own fixed-grip triple named Tomichi that went up this summer. Access is right off the top of the Breezeway chairlift or via gentle traverse along the 11,700-foot-high ridge line off the top of the Panorama chair.
As the season winds toward the official spring skiing season, here are the scheduled events at Monarch.

Fridays Feb. 13, 20, 27: Town Challenge Races. A seven-week competition heads into its final four races for amateur recreational skiers and boarders. Series winds up March 6 with final race down Freeway and awards ceremony.

Thursday, Feb 19: Veteran’s Appreciation Day. Discounted discounted lift ticket and rental gear at local ski shops on the mountain.

Saturdays, Feb. 14, 21, 28: Little Booth Concert Series, live acoustic music from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Sidewinder Saloon deck.

Sunday, Feb 22: Telefestivus Fun Race. A full day of telemark races, competitions, instructional clinics for all levels, gear demos, and hike-to adventures to Milkwood. The day wraps up with awards and the legendary Airing of Grievances.

Friday, March 6: Ski with a Naturalist. A U.S. Forest Service naturalist conducts a tour and lecture on forest ecology, wildlife, and recreational history of Monarch Pass. Free of charge from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on the beginner trails.
This season, Wolf Creek brought a new snowboard rental shop on line to replace the existing Boarder Dome in the base area. Here's what is going on in the second half of the ski and snowboard season at Colorado's famed deep powder haven.

Sundays, Feb. 15, 22: Fun Race. Dual giant slalom on Lower Charisma. Fourteen age brackets from age 3 to 70-plus. Best of two runs qualifies for medals. No charge, races begin at 11 a.m.

Saturday, Feb. 21: Camp Robbers and Raven Riders Children's Program. The final session of a four-week skiing series for kids 5 to 8. Full-day lesson on the hill. Includes time in the terrain garden, fun races and education on mountains safety. Ticket, rental, instruction, lunch and snacks included in one price.

Tuesday, Feb. 24: Forever Young Ski and Snowboard Clinic. A half-day of instruction exclusively for "Boomers", age 50 and over, who are just getting their feet under their skis or snowboards.
