Three ski resorts across the upper tier of the Midwest, Michigan's Mount Bohemia, Wisconsin's Granite Peak, and Minnesota's Lutsen Mountains received up to eight-inches of fresh snow early this week. All are still open and look to ski into April without any problem.

Mount Bohemia, located at the tip of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is currently open daily through the rest of this month and plans on staying open weekends through April. Known for it's backcountry vibe and all natural conditions, it's a powder hounds paradise. In the past they have been able to ski into the first week of May, and this looks like it may be possible again. They annually receive over 270-inches of snow. They are known for their late season conditions, which have been lacking the last couple of seasons with lackluster winters. But, not this season. Enjoy a day on the slopes and than relax and unwind n their world class spa.

Wisconsin's Granite Peak receives a lot less snow per season, but with great snowmaking they are located far enough north to offer great conditions throughout the season. This season has been one of their best and looks to continue into early April. Their Spring Fling is scheduled for March 28-30 with lots of family activities annual pond skim, outdoor concert, fireworks plenty of color across our ski resort. All kids and parents booking a three night stay receive free rentals. They currently have 68 trails open, and may stay open into early April; not confirmed yet.

Lutsen Mountains, the Peak's sister resort located along the Arrowhead of Minnesota overlooking Lake Superior, will most likely ski weekends through April. They have been known to extend into the first weekend of May a few times. They offer 95 trails, the longest two miles long, that carom off four mountain peaks all overlooking the Great Lake. Their annual Mountain Meltdown bash, April 4-6 offers music across stacked across the resort for three straight days. They project to have at least three mountains open with 50+ runs, the spring skiing is legit, and comparable to what you find out west. However for Midwestern skiers it means a lot less travel and more time on the slopes.
