West Virginia Residents To Ski Free At End Of March Josh Sullivan calendar_month Thu Mar 05 2026 menu_book 2 minutes reading time (257 words)

The end of the season always creeps up on us here in the southeast. West Virginia is no exception.

That's the bad news. The good news is that locals in West VIrginia can hop on the slopes for free this season for one last time. Bring your ID, your crew, and your best moves to Snowshoe Mountain Resort on March 22 for a free lift ticket. Those looking to redeem their free day must show proof of WV state residency to redeem your ticket. State or Government issued photo ID’s are the only acceptable forms for proof of WV residency.

March 22 is also currently scheduled to be Snowshoe's closing day, so that free ticket is sure to get you a party, too.

Not a West Virginia resident, but still looking to save some money? From March 8 through the 22, you can book half-off lift tickets, lodging, lessons, and rentals. There are few places prettier than West Virginia in the spring time, and I can speak from experience and say that you might get a surprise powder day in the mix.

There are a few more events going down at the 'Shoe this spring. March 6-8 is both Snowshoe Pride Weekend and College Weekend. Ride all day and vibe all night in an inclusive atmosphere.

Then on March 13 and 14, 2026, come down for a Spring Fling Music and Pond Skim. Costumes are encouraged for this party day, and wipeouts are encouraged. There will be DJ sets, Après parties, live music, and cold beer.
