Bogus Basin Trail Map
Bogus Basin
Bogus Basin is the Treasure Valley's nonprofit mountain playground, located 16 miles from downtown Boise and dedicated to accessible, affordable, year-round recreation. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin isn't your typical ski resort. It's a community hub where every dollar is reinvested into mountain improvements, local jobs, and outdoor education. With 2,600 acres, over 90 runs, and the largest night operation in the Northwest, winter offers endless opportunities to ski and ride. In summer, the mountain transforms with lift-served mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, a mountain coaster, youth camps, and more. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Bogus Basin prioritizes community impact over earnings, and offers programs that introduce thousands of local kids to the outdoors through hands-on education and recreation. Whether it's a powder day or a sunset ride, Bogus Basin is here to serve the people who call this valley home today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

- Uphill-Skin-Track: This route is labeled on the Alpine Trail Network Map and is generally open at all times. The track departs from between the base of Coach s Corner Trail and the road at the signed uphill route kiosk, travels through the trees away from the ski runs, and is flagged with markers. While it is inside the edge of the southern management boundary, it offers a relatively secluded and quiet route up. The uphill track is for uphill use only and may be utilized by skiers or split boarders with skins. Snowshoes are allowed for going up, but skis or a snowboard must be used for coming down.
- Shafer Butte Route: This route departs from the Pioneer Lodge up Lodge Cat track to the hiker s left of Triumph and then up the cat track to Shafer Butte. This route is closed due to operations and winch grooming until 2:00 am. In the mornings, guests must be transitioning into downhill mode 45 minutes before opening, 8:15a on weekends and holidays, and 9:15a Monday through Friday.
