Good morning fellow froth enthusiasts, and welcome to your Thursday morning snow report from Brundage. We’ve seen healthy snow totals early this week as the storm we were all waiting for came through in a big way; despite warming temps, there’s still plenty of chowder to be had out there. It’s the midweek masquerade, and the “bell of the ball,” well, it’s YOU! We’ll be here when you’re ready to come bust out some dance moves at the snow sliding soirée that is Brundage Mountain Resort!

After some much needed and much appreciated snow blessings from Ullr himself early this week (storm totals of 2 ft mid-mountain and up), we’ve entered a warming trend while we wait for the next round of frothy fluff to roll through. Your forecaster’s favorite forecaster is calling for plenty of sunshine and highs in the low to mid 30s depending on your on-hill locale. Pick your aspect based on what you’re looking for, whether that be warm sun on your face and groomed runs underfoot, or pow stashes in shady areas that Ullr has been holding for you at will call like a jacket that only Jerry Seinfeld could love. There’s more in the forecast as we look ahead to the holiday weekend, so keep that farmer’s almanac open to the Brundage chapter.

Important update on freestyle terrain parks:

Bear and Jammer parks will be closed today for a daylight rebuild. We’ll get things open again soon so you can practice those moves for another park competition this weekend. This Saturday, Valentine’s Day, love will be in the air … love for the local community! It’s our first “Call-out Jam Session,” where the goal is to lay down some moves and bolster good community vibes. No pressure/no podium, just good vibes and room to get sick with some freestyle maneuvers.

Don’t stop dancing yet, because Father Frost, Mother Nature, and Uncle Ullr have shown use that winter hasn’t forgotten about Idaho. It’s time to shred!

Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you on the hill,

– AL Brundy

The following is how we classify grooming at Brundage Mountain Resort:

Groomed this morning: The run/trail has been groomed after 12:01am today.

Groomed last night: The run/trail was groomed between 4:01pm and 11:59pm, after the lifts closed.

Open: The run/trail is open for skiing/riding but has had no grooming operations on it.

Closed: STAY OUT OF THIS TERRAIN. Runs marked closed have not been deemed safe for the public to be on.

Upon entering CLOSED terrain, it jeopardizes Brundage Mountain Patrol’s ability to provide aid to you. Your skiing and riding privileges will also be at risk when entering closed terrain.

Early season conditions exist. It is highly reccommended to stick to open and groomed terrain. Off-piste skiing and riding is not recommended at this time.
