Alta
Nestled at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains, Alta was one of the first ski areas to open in the U.S. - more than 80 years ago! Snow - more than 500 inches annually - arrives early and stays late into the season at Alta s 8,530-foot base. Featuring a summit of 11,068 feet, Alta sports more than 2,500 feet of vertical drop spread over 2,600 acres. Alta features long, straight, steep, fall-line pitches including Alf's High Rustler, Eddie's High Nowhere, Stone Crusher, and the Baldy Chutes. Though widely respected as one of the most challenging in-bounds ski areas in the world, Alta has always viewed itself as a local's and family-oriented ski area.
SnoCountry provides the updated snow reports, weather conditions, and mountain information you need for a great day on the snow at Alta.
